Scott Turner was a senior in high school when his father Norv was fired from the Washington Redskins in 2000. Back then, owner Dan Snyder was reportedly so angry the Redskins were falling short of their Super Bowl expectations, he skipped a post-game meeting with Norv Turner and waited until the morning to dismiss him.

Wizards looking for Thomas Bryant to find groove after return from injury

Despite Thomas Bryant's frustration, the Wizards held the big man to a strict 15-minute limit restriction in his first game in over a month. Before Washington's 127-116 defeat, Bryant had missed the previous 20 games with a foot injury. Now that he's back, the Wizards plan to ease him back in until they feel like a minutes restriction is no longer necessary.

Redskins promote Kyle Smith to vice president of player personnel

The Washington Redskins don't have a general manager, but their front office is starting to come together. Washington promoted executive Kyle Smith from director of college scouting to vice president of player personnel on Monday, the latest rise for the 35-year-old and another shuffle of team executives since Ron Rivera came aboard as head coach.
