Commanders' Blough touts collaboration for new offense

New Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough isn't too proud to take suggestions from his players. The process didn't change when an offensive lineman sent an old-school "Wing-T" playbook from his high school days ahead of Wednesday's voluntary workouts.

LOVERRO: Commanders' OTAs to be another 'get to know you' party

The first OTAs of the new season for the Washington Commanders start Wednesday, and they may need name tags for all the new faces -- not just among all the free agents and draft picks, but also for a coaching staff that has undergone a dramatic change after last year's disappointing 5-12 season.

From Styles on, Commanders emphasize versatility in NFL draft

Despite having just two picks in the top 100, Washington improved its defense by taking Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles with the seventh pick in the first round and then filled a big need at wide receiver with Clemson's Antonio Williams early in the third.

Commanders open free agency by giving big deals to Oweh, Tunsil

The Washington Commanders made a pair of splashes during the first day of free agency on Monday. General manager Adam Peters extended left tackle Laremy Tunsil with a two-year, $60.2 million deal and agreed to sign edge rusher Odafe Oweh to a four-year, $100 million contract, sources familiar with the negotiations told The Washington Times.

Commanders re-sign defensive linemen Tuttle, Wise

The Commanders are maintaining some consistency on the defensive line. The franchise agreed to sign defensive linemen Deatrich Wise and Shy Tuttle to one-year deals, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Commanders finish third in annual NFL players' survey

The NFL Players Association isn't publicly releasing its annual survey that asks athletes to grade their teams' facilities, policies and benefits each offseason. An initial report indicated that the Commanders, who once ranked near the bottom of the league in most categories, surged up the survey leaderboards this year.

The Washington Commanders introduced their new coordinators Tuesday -- David Blough on offense and Daronte Jones on defense, both newbies to the high-profile roles. If owner Josh Harris had written bigger checks, the team might have been introducing Mike McDaniel and Brian Flores instead.
