The Washington Redskins promoted Tim Gribble to director of college scouting Tuesday, a day after the Redskins elevated Kyle Smith to vice president of player personnel.

Gribble, the team’s former assistant director of college scouting, will now oversee Smith’s old role. He has been with the Redskins since 2002, going from a pro personnel assistant to an area scout. He was last promoted in 2017.

Tim is an outstanding scout and veteran in the league,” Smith said in a statement. “My tremendous working relationship with Gribbs coupled with his 20-plus years of experience and 19 years as a Redskin made the decision an easy one.”

The Redskins have reorganized their front office over the past few weeks. Beyond promotions for Smith and Gribble, the team also hired Rob Rogers to replace Eric Schaffer, the team’s longtime salary cap expert who recently left the franchise. Washington, of course, also fired team president Bruce Allen after 10 years in charge.
