Trump blames protests for NFL ratings dip

Trump, campaign hail return of Big Ten sports in key swing states

President Trump's "October surprise" may have come a bit early on Wednesday when the Big Ten athletic conference announced its return to the field late next month -- in time to satisfy rabid college football fans before Election Day across a swath of swing states that the president needs to win.

Big Ten reverses course, will play college football this fall

The Big Ten canceled its football season -- until it didn't. According to multiple reports, the conference will announce Wednesday morning that it will play football this fall, starting on Oct. 24. The new season will include daily rapid testing for the coronavirus, Yahoo Sports reported.

Ryan Kerrigan earns NFC defensive player of week award

Washington defensive end Ryan Kerrigan was named the NFC defensive player of the week Wednesday for his performance against the Philadelphia Eagles -- his first such award in his 10-year career.

Myisha Hines-Allen sparks Mystics miracle playoff berth

A week ago, the Washington Mystics' season looked over. The team had dropped 12 of its 13 games in the WNBA's bubble. The Mystics were missing stars like Elena Delle Donne and Natasha Cloud -- two players who lifted them to last year's title, only to skip the league's new season. Chase Young ‘as advertised’ in dominant debut against Eagles

Chase Young had 1 1/2 sacks in Washington's stunning 27-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles -- taking part in a dominant day for the defense. Washington logged eight sacks, its most since Week 2 of the 2014 season. It held Philadelphia to 265 yards.
