The Big Ten canceled its football season — until it didn’t.
According to multiple reports, the conference will announce Wednesday morning that it will play football this fall, starting on Oct. 24. The new season will include daily rapid testing for the coronavirus, Yahoo Sports reported.
The Big Ten had canceled its season last month after university presidents voted to not hold fall sports amid the pandemic. But the conference was heavily criticized for the decision, and resumed talks to play — with the White House even getting involved.
The Big Ten’s pending return means Maryland will play football after all.
