Washington Wizards waive Glen Rice Jr.

After being named MVP of the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League, Rice was expected to find minutes in the Wizards' rotation once the season began. That did not happen because of injury, ineffectiveness and a spat with coach Randy Wittman.

Western trip poses as ‘elite’ test for Wizards

The Wizards' weekend joy will be challenged starting this week, then into January. Monday, the Washington Wizards start a five-game, eight-day road trip against the steel of the mighty Western Conference. A team that Paul Pierce assuredly said was "elite" on Saturday will be tested in a way it has not been this season.

John Wall fined, Quincy Acy suspended for altercation

Wizards point guard John Wall was fined $15,000 and Quincy Acy was suspended for one game without pay for their altercation with 5:31 remaining in Thursday's game between the Wizards and Knicks.

John Wall, Wizards dominate lowly Knicks in Big Apple

Quickly back up on his feet, John Wall shoved back. The former No. 1 pick in the midst of his best season was dumped to the floor by a double-elbow shot from New York Knicks bit player Quincy Acy.

Wizards ready for spot on Christmas marquee

Bulbs in the Madison Square Garden marquee will light up to spell "Washington Wizards" on Thursday, confirming the Wizards' rise in panache is not just realized locally. They will play the New York Knicks on the NBA's showcase day, tipping off at noon.

Wizards continue to fix their minor problems

Nene's force and Rasual Butler's shooting in the fourth quarter fueled a 109-95 fourth-quarter win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and moved the Wizards to 18-6.

NLDS loss to Giants left Nationals with a bitter taste

Behind the massive gray folding wall, bitterness countered the laughter and smiles on the other side.
