Virginia’s Anderson may miss 4-6 weeks with hand injury

Justin Anderson winced when Virginia's head athletic trainer, Ethan Saliba, fussed with the bandages on the two outside fingers of his left hand Saturday night. Randy Wittman: ‘You’re not going to stop’ Kevin Durant

Time off for Kevin Durant only delayed what he usually does. The last time the Washington Wizards faced the Oklahoma City Thunder's spindly scoring conundrum, he returned from missing six consecutive games because of an ankle injury. His first night back came during Washington's trying swing through Texas before heading to play the Thunder earlier in the month. Durant scored 34 points in the Thunder's 109-102 win. No one was surprised.

No rest for the weary Wizards with Spurs in town

Wound-licking has a time statute in the NBA thanks to the manic schedule. For the Washington Wizards, that window of woe is less than 48 hours since the world champion San Antonio Spurs will be in town Tuesday night.
