Washington Wizards beat Detroits Pistons behind John Wall, big men

The Detroit Pistons arrived in D.C. with a counterculture frontline in today's NBA. Three post-based players each standing at least 6 feet, 9 inches tall filled out the Detroit front court in a league addicted to spacing and a basketball world where being among the tallest is no longer an assured route to the paint.

Wizards savor breather after grueling season-opening schedule

The Wizards must feel like they are on vacation since Saturday. They were off Sunday before practicing Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, the burly Detroit Pistons come to town. That's the start of four consecutive home games spread over the next two weeks.
