Paul Pierce gets the best of Toronto

Veteran Paul Pierce had residents of Toronto wound up even before tip-off Saturday. By the end of Game 1, he had silenced them with a game-high 20 points and a Wizards road win to open the series.

John Wall, Bradley Beal set for second playoff run

Beal and Wall remain the Wizards' engine, the whole thing this season and the future hangs on. Each say they are in a good place when heading on the road to deal with the Raptors. All that's left is to prove it.

Jayson Werth says he’s close to returning

Werth said playing on Opening Day was discussed, but he's not quite ready. The Nationals placed him on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, retroactive to March 27.
