Alex Smith part of Washington’s ‘equation’ at quarterback when healthy

Speaking to reporters during an online video press conference, Washington coach Ron Rivera said he will monitor the progress of signal-callers Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen and even veteran Alex Smith. Coming off a horrific leg injury from 2018, Smith was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin camp, but if he is cleared to practice, Rivera said the 36-year-old will become "part of our equation" in determining a starter.

Nationals can’t convert in loss to Blue Jays

If there was a day that highlighted the challenges of playing baseball in the middle of a pandemic, it was Monday. Through it all, the Nationals still had a game to play -- one they lost 4-1 against the Toronto Blue Jays in Nationals Park.

Chase Young signs rookie deal

The Washington Redskins signed defensive end Chase Young to his rookie contract Thursday, a deal worth four years, $34.6 million. The No. 2 overall pick's contract includes a $22.7 million signing bonus.

Redskins agree to terms with majority of rookie class

The Washington Redskins signed five members of their rookie class Wednesday -- agreeing to terms with running back Antonio Gibson, left tackle Saahdiq Charles, wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden, center Keith Ismael and defensive end James Smith-Williams.

Mavericks, Panthers provide template for Dan Snyder, Washington

Dan Snyder wasn't directly accused of any sexual harassment, but in the days since publication, he has taken plenty of criticism for letting the behavior happen under his ownership. And as Washington has launched a review of the alleged misconduct, the NFL vowed Friday to take "any action" deemed appropriate upon conclusion of the investigation -- leaving open the possibility of a fine or further punishment.

Madden NFL 21 removing ‘Redskins’ from game

Electronic Arts, the developer of the popular football video game, said this year's edition will feature a "generic Washington team" instead of using the Redskins' imagery while Washington searches for a new name.
