Target to stop selling Redskins gear online

Target joined the slew of companies Monday to stop selling Washington Redskins memorabilia on its website in wake of the renewed push for the team to change its name.

Wizards brace for life in NBA bubble

Redskins name change looms, but direction is now the debate

The Washington Redskins are searching for a new name, one that must not only win over their long-time fans who are passionate about the name "Redskins," but also be respectful toward the American Indian communities who have long taken offense to the team's name and logo.

Asante Samuel torched over questioning Darrell Green’s resume

Asante Samuel wanted a debate. The former NFL cornerback tweeted, asking if someone "could please explain" why Hall of Fame and former Redskins cornerback Darrell Green was considered great. "He played 19 years and was mostly a nickel back. 54 INT's in 19 years. Talk to me????" Samuel tweeted. It did not go over well.

Nike scrubs ‘Redskins’ gear from website

Hours after FedEx said it had asked the Washington Redskins to change their name, Nike removed all references to the team -- including the option to buy apparel -- from its website.

Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee senator, questions NBA’s relationship with China

Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn sent a letter to NBA Commissioner David Silver on Tuesday that expressed concern over the league's ties with a Communist regime, Sports Illustrated reported. In a two-page letter, Blackburn presented three questions she wants answered by July 21 about the relationship.

Wizards, like it or not, gladly accepting NBA’s invitation to resume season

Since the league detailed its return plan, many observers wondered about the need for Washington and the Phoenix Suns (26-39) to risk going down to Orlando, especially when their playoff chances seem so slim. Five Thirty-Eight's predictive model pegs the Wizards' chances of making the postseason at just 2%. But like it or not, the Wizards will gladly accept the invitation.
