Eagles booed off the field as Redskins lead at half

Adrian Peterson accepting reduced role in Redskins offense

When Adrian Peterson was with Minnesota Vikings, when he was regarded as the best running back in the NFL, he knew he couldn't take it for granted. He said he had an appreciation for "the grind" as he saw the running backs rotate in and out of the building every year.

In this Sept. 9, 2018, file photo, Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams (71) is shown in action during an NFL football game against the Arizona Cardinals, in Glendale, Ariz. Fans worry that the summer rite in the NFL, training camp holdouts, won’t affect their team’s chances for a championship. This year’s crop of no-shows includes an All-Pro receiver, the Saints’ Michael Thomas; a standout offensive tackle who might be the key to the Redskins’ offense, Trent Williams; and budding stars DEs Jadeveon Clowney of the Texans, Yannick Ngakoue of the Jaguars, and RB Melvin Gordon of the Chargers. Redskins downplay significance of adding former Eagles

Wendell Smallwood wasn't the only former Eagle to be picked up by the Redskins recently as Washington also signed defensive tackle Treyvon Hester on Monday -- raising the question of whether the Redskins did so specifically to get some inside information ahead of their matchup. Case Keenum learns to ‘roll with punches’ through adversity

Case Keenum doesn't wish he was born a few years later, but no one would blame him if he secretly wanted that. Ten years ago at the University of Houston, the quarterback started to post record-setting numbers in box scores, displayed a firm command of the spread system and even worked closely with offensive guru Kliff Kingsbury. All those traits are more than desired in the modern NFL.

Expectations low for Redskins

As the Redskins begin another season Sunday -- their 21st under owner Dan Snyder -- on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington faces a plethora of issues. Team president Bruce Allen said this offseason he believed the Redskins were "close" -- leaving some fans asking: "To what?"

How the Redskins are bucking one NFL trend in 2019

Fifteen teams have a new play-callers, per The Ringer, since the start of last season, but the Redskins -- despite finishing 29th in offensive efficiency in 2018 -- aren't among them. That task will remain with coach Jay Gruden, whose job status has never been hotter entering his sixth season.
