Robert Davis making strong case for roster spot

Last year, it was Cam Sims who "threw a hand grenade" into the Redskins' competition at wide receiver. But in 2019, that role appears to belong to Robert Davis, a 2017 sixth-rounder who has been one of Washington's only offensive playmakers this preseason.

Jay Gruden on Colt McCoy: ‘We probably rushed him back’

Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy will remain out from practice until he feels '100%' comfortable with his surgically repaired right leg, coach Jay Gruden said Sunday. Gruden even floated the possibility of McCoy missing regular-season games, though added there is no timetable for the veteran's recovery.

Redskins embrace instability along offensive line

On one hand, the Redskins should be used to having to shuffle different players upfront after injuries forced them to mix-and-match linemen over the past two seasons. But at the same time, Washington has generally enjoyed continuity at the position to begin each year.

Colt McCoy out with leg injury vs. Bengals

The Washington Redskins held their annual walk-through and signed autographs for military families at Joint Base Andrews on Wednesday, but a notable name stayed back at the team's facility in Ashburn for treatment: quarterback Colt McCoy.

Derrius Guice not fully cleared for full contact

A year after tearing his ACL, running back Derrius Guice has yet to receive full clearance from the Redskins' doctors and medical staff to take full contact. Until he does, Guice won't be allowed to play in the preseason, coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday.

Redskins resisting Trent Williams trade offers: report

The Washington Redskins have resisted trading left tackle Trent Williams as the left tackle continues his holdout, telling opposing teams they will not be dealing the seven-time Pro Bowler, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
