Gideon McKean body recovered from water two days after mother found

The body of 8-year-old Gideon McKean, the grandson of Maryland ex-Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and great-grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, was recovered from the water Wednesday two days after his mother Maeve Townsend McKean was found, Maryland Natural Resources Police announced.

U.S. coronavirus death toll surpasses 10,000

More than 10,000 people in the U.S. have died of the coronavirus as of Monday, according to Johns Hopkins University's online tool that tracks cases and deaths worldwide.

Golf schedule revised to hold U.S. Open in September, Masters in November

Seven golf governing bodies, including the PGA Tour, LPGA, USGA and R&A, released a revised schedule of tournaments and championships for the remainder of 2020 that includes the cancellation of the British Open, the U.S. Open moving in September and the Masters moving to November.

Maryland ramps up protection measures at nursing homes

Maryland's nursing home and long-term care employees will be required to wear personal protective equipment at all times, and testing for residents of these facilities will be expedited as part of Gov. Larry Hogan's latest emergency order designed to slow the spread of coronavirus among the elderly population.
