Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics to ‘Hey Jude’ sell for $910,000 at auction

The paper once belonged to then-Beatles guitarist Paul McCartney. It contains the handwritten lyrics to "Hey Jude," a rock anthem penned by Mr. McCartney and the late John Lennon in 1968. Los Angeles-based Julien's Auctions - which staged an online bidding war for the lyric sheet and other Beatles memorabilia on Friday - expected the paper to fetch $160,000 or so. It brought in about nine times that amount.

Inside the Beltway: As coronavirus fears mount, Democrats get tacky

High-profile Democrats -- very high-profile Democrats, in fact -- continue to criticize Mr. Trump and push alarming narratives -- such as the untrue notion that the nation's vital medical supplies have dwindled. Some have tried to bring a "climate denial" dynamic into the picture, or have accused the president of being "sexist." This is not only improper and counterproductive, it is just downright tacky.

Inside the Beltway: Coronavirus coverage continues to be a media fright fest

President Trump continues to be a steady public presence in the midst of coronavirus, appearing alongside medical experts, the nation's leading manufacturers, law enforcement personnel and others. As is mentioned time and again, the news media has not been kind to Mr. Trump and his administration over these many weeks, using his daily responses to the challenge as a vehicle for criticism, mockery -- or to suggest that the president is alarming the public.
