Inside the Beltway: Trump praises ‘incredible dedication’ of American military

Take a few seconds on Memorial Day to remember why we mark the day. In a proclamation, President Trump has asked the nation to pray for "permanent peace" at 11 a.m. in whatever time zone you happen to be in. Then pause again at 3 p.m. and think of those lost in battle in "The Moment of Remembrance" -- an event that was actually designated by Congress in 1950.

Coronavirus pandemic does not slow the mission of Rolling Thunder

The roar of motorcycles on a mission continues. Even the coronavirus has not stopped Rolling Thunder's "Ride for Freedom," an annual demonstration to draw attention to veterans issues and honor prisoners of war and those missing in action. It's just a little different this year.

The news media often imply that the nation is falling apart because President Trump remains in office and the coronavirus has ruined life as we know it. The nation, apparently, has not gotten the message, Things are not as bad as the press suggests -- which could disappoint those news organizations which base their coverage on tales of public discontent and discord and confusion in the White House.

Biden's "never-ending, seemingly incomprehensible statements" during his quest for White House.

40% of Americans paying little or no attention to 2020 election: Poll

Who's paying close attention to the presidential campaign besides the candidates, political strategists and the news media? A new Economist/YouGov poll finds that that 26% of U.S. adults are paying "only a little attention" to the White House race, while 14% are paying no attention.

The Democratic Party just can't kick the epic legislation habit, creating bills which are strategically lengthy, dense and unwieldy. This dubious art came into full flower when the 2,300-page Affordable Care Act - Obamacare - arrived at the U.S. Capitol in 2010. Those original hundreds of pages paved the eventual way for 20,000 more pages of regulations, according to several reports.

War chest: Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has raised an unprecedented $742 million

President Trump is winning the donations war. His campaign raised $61.7 million in April, bringing the total haul for this election cycle to an unprecedented $742 million, the Republican National Committee announced Tuesday. This is $288 million more than former President Barack Obama at this point in his re-election campaign eight years ago.

Mike Garcia prepares to lead the Republican charge in California in special election
