GOP tax framework would give outsized benefit to top 1 percent: Report

The Republican tax framework unveiled this week would create an immediate tax cut for all income levels, but the top 1 percent would receive 50 percent of the total tax benefits in 2018 and would stand to gain more over time than everyone else, according to a report released Friday.

House Freedom Caucus endorses GOP tax framework

The conservative House Freedom Caucus on Wednesday threw its support behind the tax reform framework unveiled by GOP leaders and will also support the House Republican budget plan that aims to fast-track the tax package, clearing a potential roadblock for the party's next big-ticket agenda item.

GOP tax proposal cheered by business groups

Republican tax reform plan heartens small business owners

Small business owners are increasingly hopeful they won't get left out in the cold in tax reform, and say they feel encouraged by lawmakers' prioritizing relief both for larger corporations and for such smaller companies that are often subjected to even higher tax rates.
