Davis Bertans to miss 4-6 weeks with calf injury

Joel Embiid’s playoff career high puts Wizards on brink of elimination

The Philadelphia 76ers center had his best game of the series Saturday, dominating as the Wizards now are on the brink of elimination after a 132-103 loss at Capital One Arena. Embiid finished with a playoff career-high 36 points, shooting 77% to go along with his eight rebounds and three blocks.

Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons dominate as Wizards fall behind 2-0 to 76ers

Days after pushing the top seed in the Eastern Conference, the Wizards were stomped by Embiid and the 76ers on Wednesday -- losing 120-95 as Washington now trails 2-0 in the best-of-seven first-round series. Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t have to be a savior for Washington’s offense

Ryan Fitzpatrick was not brought on to be a savior. With Washington beginning 11-on-11 drills this week during OTAs, Rivera said his team won't have to rely on Fitzpatrick to produce single-handedly. Wizards searching for toughness ahead of Game 2 against 76ers

Washington came away encouraged after falling behind 1-0 in the best-of-seven first-round series. But the Wizards will have to be more disciplined in order to become the first eighth seed to beat a No. 1 since 2012. After all, the 76ers have a sizable gap in talent -- with a better supporting cast and two bonafide stars in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

76ers withstand Wizards’ best to take Game 1

For so much of Sunday's afternoon Game 1 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Wizards hung tough and even looked like they could pull off the upset. But the 76ers just had too much firepower -- pulling away with a 125-118 win at Wells Fargo Center to get the first victory in the best-of-seven first-round series.

Russell Westbrook, Wizards blow out Pacers to clinch first playoff berth since 2018

With the Wizards in a do-or-die game, Westbrook bullied his way to the paint again and again as he and Washington clinched a playoff spot in a 142-115 win over the Indiana Pacers. Washington will now face the No. 1-seeded Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday at 1 p.m., securing the eighth seed from the NBA's play-in tournament.

NBA counts on playoffs to reverse ratings slump

Washington cuts Morgan Moses, Geron Christian

The Washington Football Team released right tackle Morgan Moses on Thursday after the team was unable to trade him. The team also cut left tackle Geron Christian, a 2018 third-rounder who began last season as a starter before being benched.
