George Gerbo hosts the Front Page Podcast, District of Sports Podcast, covers University of Maryland football and men’s basketball, and is the media coordinator for The Washington Times. A West Virginia native, he is a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University and a 2017 graduate of the University of Maryland, both in broadcast journalism. Before coming to the Times in 2019, George spent seven years working in a variety of capacities on Capitol Hill and with the U.S. House of Representatives. Defense shines, but blocked extra point dooms Terrapins in loss to Purdue

Freshman linebacker Jaishawn Barham tallied two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, leading a disruptive Terrapins defense that forced three straight turnovers on Purdue drives in the second half. What the final game under the Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium branding lacked in in explosive plays it made up for in twists and turns, as Maryland scored 14 unanswered points to come from behind and beat Southern Methodist, 34-27.
