George Gerbo hosts the Front Page Podcast, District of Sports Podcast, covers University of Maryland football and men’s basketball, and is the media coordinator for The Washington Times. A West Virginia native, he is a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University and a 2017 graduate of the University of Maryland, both in broadcast journalism. Before coming to the Times in 2019, George spent seven years working in a variety of capacities on Capitol Hill and with the U.S. House of Representatives. Coco Gauff, Maria Sakkari advance to D.C. Open women’s final

Seven-seed Maria Sakkari continued her quick, maiden tour of Washington, controlling the match but needing a third set to beat fourth-ranked and top-seeded Jessica Pegula, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Quarterfinals begin to fill up at rain-delayed D.C. Open

It was moving day for top seeds at the D.C. Open Thursday as the quarterfinals for both the men's and women's draws began to fill up before late-afternoon storms halted play at the Rock Creek Park Tennis Center.
