Moonlight wins best picture after Oscars goof

In a shocking development, Warren Beatty read the wrong information on Sunday night, mistakenly saying that "La La Land" had won when, in fact, "Moonlight" was the best picture.

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel sounds light tone, ribs Trump at awards

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel said he aimed to unite a country divided. "I want to say thank you for President Trump. Because remember last year when it seemed like the Oscars were racist?" he said of the chief executive who is notorious for tweeting out against celebrities who slight him.

Oscars diversity of 2017 aims to offset #SoWhite campaign

A year after the ceremony was haunted by the #OscarsSoWhite backlash, there are actors of color nominated in all four categories of the Oscars Sunday. One category, best supporting actress, has three. Whether the greater diversity will translate into higher ratings remains to be seen after last year's eight-year low. Producers are hopeful that the humor of host Jimmy Kimmel -- combined with Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs campaign to diversify the Academy membership -- will make viewers tune in.

‘A United Kingdom’ director Amma Asante believes in challenging societal expectations

The romance of Seretse Khama and Ruth Williams seemed doomed from the start. Williams was the daughter of working-class London parents, and Khama was in England to complete his education before returning to his native Botswana to rule over his people -- under the protectorate of the British Crown. The young couple at the center of the storm are played in "A United Kingdom" by David Oyelowo ("Selma," "Interstellar") and Rosamund Pike ("Gone Girl," "Jack Reacher").

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen brings art showcase to D.C.

"Rick Allen: Drums for Peace," will be on display Saturday at the Wentworth Gallery facilities in Bethesda, Maryland, and McLean, Virginia. The collection comprises not only Mr. Allen's drums but also sculptures and mixed-media works and his personalized jewelry. Portions of the sales of his work will be donated to Project Resiliency, a charity to help wounded warriors, in partnership Mr. Allen's own charity, The Raven Drum Foundation.

Tesla opens CityCenter location

California-based electric car manufacturer Tesla has opened a downtown District location in the happening CityCenter neighborhood. At the showroom located on H Street NW, the completely electric Model S sedan and Model X SUV are now on display. Customers can personalize their vehicle choices with color and other desired add-ons at the shop.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Sandra Oh on animated film ‘Window Horses’ at Santa Barbara Film Festival

Sandra Oh uses an entirely different method when voice acting versus being on stage or screen. "Window Horses," based on a long-running character by writer-director Ann Marie Fleming, follows Rosie Ming (Miss Oh), a Canadian poet who is invited to travel to a poetry festival in Shiraz, Iran. In Iran she makes the acquaintance of other poets and learns about her long-lost Iranian father. The film also features the voices of Oscar nominees Shohreh Aghdashloo and Ellen Page.
