World of Beer unveils new menu options

As the food and drinks menu of the World of Beer have gone so far beyond the hoppy entries as to be, in fact, a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the franchise, which began in Tampa, Florida, in 2007 as a beer lover's emporium.

‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ star Jessica Chastain and director Niki Caro discuss Holocaust in Poland

Filmmaker Niki Caro firmly believes that the star of her new film "The Zookeeper's Wife," is a bona fide "animal whisperer." Ms. Caro, the New Zealander behind such earlier works as "Whale Rider" and "North Country," said that it was Oscar-nominated actress Jessica Chastain's easiness with the creatures populating the long-destroyed Warsaw Zoo of pre-World War II in her film that engendered a kinship with the film's real-life subject, Antonina Zabinski.

‘Trainspotting’ sequel director Danny Boyle said time was right to revisit characters

The final scene of "Trainspotting" saw Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) absconding with a satchel full of cash and delivering, in voiceover, his famous "choose life" speech. For years moviegoers pondered if director Danny Boyle and screenwriter John Hodge would ever return to Edinburgh to see what time and tide had wrought to the antiheroes of "Trainspotting." With the opening in the District this weekend of "T2 Trainspotting," their questions will be answered.

CONCERT REVIEW: Cher MGM National Harbor more show than concert

"What's your grandmother doing tonight?" Bruce Springsteen bandmate Steven Van Zandt to perform at D.C. children’s charity event

Steven Van Zandt, the same man who has shredded uptempo rock anthems alongside the Boss for decades and made a cottage industry of playing on-screen murderers, has a heart of pure gold. Accordingly, Mr. Van Zandt heads to The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, Saturday night for The Rock and Roll for Children Foundation (RRFC) annual fundraising event to raise money for The Children's Inn at NIH, where young patients can take a break from tests and treatments for rare diseases and instead be just kids.

D.C. homeless shelter raises $1.5 million for social services assistance

The District's N Street Village charity, which works with social services to transition homeless and low-income women in the capital area to jobs and independent living, raised over $1.5 million at a fundraising gala Tuesday evening -- the most successful event in the charity's history.

Mick Fleetwood said that the story of how Fleetwood Mac first came to Chicago, one of the hotbeds of blues music, in the late-1960s is mostly unknown to their legions of fans. But now, thanks to his picture-and-narrative book "Love That Burns -- A Chronicle of Fleetwood Mac," that untold chapter in Fleetwood Mac's life is finally being told. "That part I thought was really important for a musician that loved -- and still loves -- blues so much as I do," Mr. Fleetwood told The Washington Times from the SXSW Conference in Austin, Texas, where he will speak Wednesday and sign copies of his book.

Vanessa Williams singing tour comes to D.C.’s Howard Theatre, discusses ‘other’ Vanessa
