PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police say a fourth person has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a good Samaritan.

Police say 29-year-old William Lopes was apprehended Wednesday in Fall River, Mass. He’s expected to be extradited back to Providence to face a felony assault charge in connection with the March 2 killing of 22-year-old Satchel Ramos.

Ramos and his brother were stabbed on Atwells Avenue while trying to stop several men from harassing a couple. His brother survived.

Lopes is detained pending a court arraignment Thursday in Fall River. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.

Two Massachusetts men - Eric Souza of Freetown and Justin Santerre of Fall River - are charged with murder, and Lisa Fisher of Fall River is accused of failing to report a felony.
