MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are renewing efforts to find the hit-and-run driver who killed a bicyclist five years ago.
Lt. Chris Hudok says police have evidence that may help identify the SUV that struck and killed 65-year-old Jim Nisser in September of 2008. Hudok says paint chips at the scene led investigators to conclude Nisser was hit by a 1996 to 1998 light brown Jeep Grand Cherokee.
He says a body shop might recall working on such a vehicle back then. WCCO-TV (https://cbsloc.al/1fytdej ) reports no witnesses ever came forward in the case. Police say it’s possible the driver was intoxicated and panicked, but now may be ready to talk about the incident.
