Stephen Strasburg thinks slider was partial cause of injury

Strasburg added a slider last season. He "fell in love" with the pitch, which he also thinks contributed to the tightness in his forearm and, eventually, a partial tear of his pronator tendon, which ended his season.

Mark Melancon to the San Francisco Giants

Melancon has signed a four-year deal with the San Francisco Giants. Melancon was acquired July 30 by the Nationals in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
