NASA taps three companies to build first outpost on the Moon

NASA announced Tuesday the selection of three companies to land four new missions on the Moon in late 2028 as part of the agency's Moon Base Program, according to a NASA press release. Astrobotic, Firefly Aerospace, and Intuitive Machines will deliver NASA science payloads to the lunar surface as the agency builds the first outpost on another celestial world, NASA said.

A federal grand jury in the District of Columbia has indicted two high-ranking members of the United Cartels on charges related to methamphetamine trafficking, providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and firearms offenses, the Justice Department announced.

Iowa developer waives bankruptcy discharge on $17.7 million in debts

Jeffrey Garth Ewing, an Iowa developer of housing communities for older adults throughout the Midwest, has agreed to waive his bankruptcy discharge of more than $17.7 million in debts following an investigation by the Justice Department's U.S. Trustee Program, according to the department. The USTP said its investigation found that Ewing transferred nearly $400,000 to companies he controlled in an effort to shield the funds from his creditors.
