Senate votes to overturn Trump’s border wall emergency

Republicans rushed to join Democrats Thursday in rebuking President Trump and his border wall plans, voting to overturn his emergency declaration and prevent him from using some Pentagon money to build new fencing.

GOP senators abandon Trump in border wall fight

Republican senators rushed to distance themselves from President Trump's border wall declaration Thursday, saying that while they agree the immigration situation has grown out of control, they don't want to take money from the Pentagon to pay for his new fence.

DHS’s return-to-Mexico policy gets slow start

Homeland Security officials revealed Tuesday that 240 migrants have been returned to Mexico to wait while their immigration cases proceed in the U.S., marking a relatively slow start to the Trump administration's newest get-tough policy.

Democrats announce expanded Dream Act for illegals

House Democrats upped their ante on illegal immigration Tuesday, announcing new legislation that would not only grant legal status to potentially millions of illegal immigrant "Dreamers," but adds hundreds of thousands more migrants to the mix.

Support for Donald Trump dwindles among ICE officers

ICE officers who endorsed President Trump in 2016 now say he has failed to follow through on his get-tough promises, saying catch-and-release of immigrants living illegally in the U.S. is not only still happening, but has gone into "overdrive."

Judge rules DHS began family separations in 2017

A federal judge ruled late Friday that perhaps thousands more illegal immigrant children may be subject to his earlier orders that the government find their parents and reunite the families.
