Qudus Wahab, Georgetown center, enters transfer portal

Sophomore center Qudus Wahab entered the transfer portal, Georgetown announced Thursday. The 21-year-old started 25 of 26 games during the 2020-21 season, averaging 12.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

The Washington owner agreed to buy out the team's minority shareholders, purchasing the 40% stake from Fred Smith, Robert Rothman, and Dwight Schar -- a deal that will ultimately give the embattled billionaire more control over the franchise, according to multiple reports.

Washington eyeing Steven Montez for Taysom Hill-type role: report

The Athletic reports that Washington has expressed interest in using Montez in a similar way that the New Orleans Saints use quarterback Taysom Hill. As the Saints' utility man, most of Hill's snaps have come in creative formations where he was used as a runner, receiver and occasional passing threat.

NFL to host in-person draft in Cleveland

The NFL announced Monday it will host an in-person event for this year's draft after conducting the event remotely in 2020 due to the pandemic. In a press release, the league said it plans to host fans, draft prospects and media when the three-day draft takes place April 29 to May 1 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Washington graded as ‘winners’ in free agency after haul

Pro Football Focus has the team second in its "Improvement Index," a metric that measures how many "wins" a team added on a per-player basis. Sports Illustrated listed Washington as a "winner" in its annual "Winners and Losers of Free Agency" piece, as did the New York Post. According to Oddschecker, Washington's odds of repeating as division champions increased from +400 to +280 at some sportsbooks.
