A West Virginia native, he is a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University and a 2017 graduate of the University of Maryland, both in broadcast journalism. Before coming to the Times in 2019, George spent seven years working in a variety of capacities on Capitol Hill and with the U.S. House of Representatives. Maryland's hopes for a fourth-straight bowl appearance are on life support after Saturday night, as Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis threw for two touchdowns and Kyle Monangai rushed for two more as the Scarlet Knights beat the Terrapins 31-17.

Terrapins battle throughout, but fall late to No. 15 Marquette

In a true prize fight-like contest and atmosphere against No. 15 Marquette, Maryland held its own behind 24 point performances from guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie and center Derik Queen. Kam Jones, however, proved unstoppable, scoring a game-high 28 points as the Golden Eagles pulled away in the final minutes to win 78-74.

Maryland mounts 14-point fourth quarter comeback to beat USC in thriller

Southern California and Maryland met Saturday for the first time in football and as Big Ten members, but if you didn't know any better, it was as if an old Pac-12 after dark game broke out. Maryland mounted a two touchdown comeback in the fourth quarter, capped by Billy Edwards Jr.'s 3-yard rushing score as the Terrapins beat the Trojans 29-28.
