Illegal immigrant charged with rape while in Philadelphia, a sanctuary city

Living and working in sanctuary, Milton Mateo Garcia is accused of forcing a woman into her apartment and raping her repeatedly. With Mr. Garcia now facing trial, ICE has lodged a detainer against him, requesting that local police notify federal immigration authorities before he would be released. But Philadelphia police won't honor that request unless Mr. Garcia is convicted of a violent felony and a judicial warrant is issued.

Obama has no plans to visit Texas border

President Obama doesn't plan to accept an invitation from Texas Gov. Rick Perry to visit the Mexican border next week during a fundraising trip to witness the immigration crisis first-hand, the White House said Wednesday.
