Louie Gohmert raises valid point in call to rename Democratic Party

Rep. Louie Gohmert, Republican from Texas, introduced a resolution that would ban the Democratic Party, among other organizations, based on historical truths about the left's embrace of racism and blatant support of slavery. It's a resolution that yes, is eye-widening -- but at least it strikes the right spirit. He raises some good points.

Hey, lawyers: Where are you?

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser just issued an executive order requiring all citizens and visitors to wear masks when outside, or else face possible fines of up to $1,000. She's just one of many around the nation issuing similar or identical orders and enforcement threats. And all the free citizens go: Where are the lawyers?

Berkeley City Council rolls out red carpet for criminals

Berkeley City Council members, in all their wisely owl wisdom, just voted in a reform bill for police that requires them to stop issuing traffic tickets and that will, over the course of time, cut their departmental budgets by 50%. And all the criminals and would-be criminals go: Yay!

Scientists long ago exhausted their COVID-19 capital

Hundreds of scientists have joined forces and penned a letter to the World Health Organization chiefs to get an official, authoritative ruling that the new coronavirus is airborne, meaning transmitted by breathing contaminated air.
