WikiLeaks asks DOJ to end Julian Assange investigation

The FBI's decision not to file criminal charges against Hillary Clinton over her handling of classified information warrants the Justice Department to end its investigation of WikiLeaks and its editor, Julian Assange, an attorney for the anti-secrecy website said Tuesday.

Hillary Clinton precedent tested: Navy, Justice asked to excuse classified info cases

A lawyer representing a Navy sailor facing prison for mishandling classified material plans to request probation at Friday's sentencing, citing the lenience shown for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her secret email setup, according to reports. In addition, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange cited the Clinton precedent Tuesday in arguing that his publication should not be prosecuted for distributing classified information.

Raleigh shopping mall on lockdown over possible shooting: Reports

Panic ripped through a Raleigh, North Carolina shopping mall Saturday afternoon amid reports of shots fired, according to witnesses. As of 5:40 p.m. local time, "authorities said the situation was 'de-escalating,' although they had not made any arrests or identified any suspects," according to WRAL-TV.

New Mexico police officer fatally shot in traffic stop: Report

A New Mexico police officer was fatally shot during a traffic stop Friday night in Hatch, a town north of Las Cruces. Three suspects are in custody in the incident after a high-speed chase which involved what KOAT-TV described as "a multi-jurisdiction response, including air response from Border Patrol."
