Washington Valor to host playoff game Sunday

The Washington Valor finished the regular season 7-5 and clinched the third seed in the AFL. They will play the No. 2 Philadelphia Soul in a two-game semifinal series for the right to advance to ArenaBowl XXXII.

Alex Ovechkin to visit China as NHL ambassador

Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin will visit Beijing the week of Aug. 4 to serve as an "international ambassador" for the NHL as it seeks to grow hockey in China, the league announced Thursday.
