The Washington Capitals celebrated Alex Ovechkin reaching 700 career goals in a ceremony before Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets, which included a video montage of Wayne Gretzky and the other living members of the 700 goals club congratulating the Russian.

Capitals shake up bottom six with Ilya Kovalchuk, trade Christian Djoos

The Capitals acquired Ilya Kovalchuk Sunday on the eve of the trade deadline, and remained active Monday by swapping defenseman Christian Djoos for Anaheim Ducks forward Daniel Sprong in a minor-league trade. Capitals come back to beat Penguins, take sole division lead
