Sean Miller, Arizona coach, doubles down: ‘I’ve never paid a recruit’

University of Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller held an impromptu press conference Thursday to read a statement that doubled down on his denial of allegedly paying a high school recruit $100,000 to come to the school. "I have never knowingly violated NCAA rules while serving as head coach of this great program," Miller said.

Warriors talk African American museum, stay mostly mum on politics

IOC lifts Olympic ban on Russia after doping scandal

The International Olympic Committee had days earlier voted not to lift the ban in time for the closing ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, preventing the Russian athletes at the game from marching under their nation's flag.

Richmond votes to refinance loan on Redskins’ training facility to avoid default

Richmond City Council voted Monday to refinance a 2013 loan for the Washington Redskins' training camp facility a few months before it was set to default, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported. The city will now refinance the loan over the next 15 years and pay $750,000 a year out of the taxpayer-financed general fund.
