Former Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan will be executed by firing squad on Dec. 3 at Fort Hood, the same Texas post where he killed 13 people and injured 32 others in a 2009 shooting.
Acting Army Secretary Adam R. Telle announced the date and location Tuesday, following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s recommendation and President Trump’s approval of the death sentence.
Hasan was a major in the Army’s medical corps and self-identified as an Islamic jihadist. He carried out the attack on unarmed soldiers at Fort Hood under that ideology, officials said.
