Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey pleaded not guilty Monday to a new indictment charging him with obstruction of justice as part of a sprawling case that alleges he accepted money and leveraged his Capitol Hill position to act as a foreign agent for Egypt.

Trump stands by tariffs as a major trade tool against China

Former President Donald Trump is sticking by his plan to raise tariffs on all Chinese exports and said he isn't worried about retaliatory levies from Beijing. Mr. Trump on Monday said China was "petrified" of tariffs he imposed during his term, giving the U.S. leverage in the trade relationship.
