Capitals trade for Michal Kempny

The Washington Capitals are adding another defenseman a week ahead of the NHL's trade deadline. The Capitals traded a third-round pick Monday to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Michal Kempny.

Wizards interested in signing Derrick Rose: report

ESPN reported the Wizards are "expected to survey the possibility" of signing Derrick Rose while star point guard John Wall recovers from knee surgery. Wall is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Lars Eller signs five-year extension with Capitals

Center Lars Eller and the Capitals agreed to a five-year, $17.5 million contract extension Saturday, months ahead of free agency. Eller was set to be an unrestricted free agent, but passed up the opportunity so he could stay in the District.

John Wall’s absence felt vs. Celtics

As much as the Wizards have verbally defended Wall in the past few days, perhaps the best signifier Washington still needs their star was in the team's 110-104 overtime loss Thursday to the Boston Celtics.
