Commanders make a splash with Tunsil trade, Kinlaw signing

The Washington Commanders are loading up. The franchise made a pair of splashy moves on Monday as NFL free agency began, trading for Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil and agreeing to sign former New York Jets defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.

U.S.-Canada trade war would be ‘painful’ for NHL, commissioner says

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman on Wednesday said his league is awkwardly caught in the middle of rising tensions between the U.S. and Canada, noting that a trade war -- or any tariffs added on top of President Trump's proposed 25% tax on Canadian goods -- would hurt the league.

Ovechkin, Capitals donating to cancer research for each goal during record chase

"The Gr8 Chase" is heating up, with Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin trailing Wayne Gretzky by just 10 goals for the NHL record of 894, and the left winger is putting his money where his puck is. He announced Wednesday that he would donate to cancer research for each goal the rest of his career.
