North Korea fires 3 ballistic missiles as G-20 meets

North Korea fires 3 ballistic missiles into the sea toward Japan as the leaders of the G-20 met in China. The missiles were of the medium-range Rodong-class. The Japanese and South Korean leaders met on the sidelines of the world gathering to discuss the situation.

North Korean soldiers get nuclear backpacks

As tensions rise on the Korean Peninsula due to North Korean nuclear tests, missile launches, and South Korean military exercises with U.S. forces, a source says the North Korean military has started to arm certain North Korean soldiers with nuclear backpacks.

Russia to garrison division less than 100KM from U.S. border

Russia is actively preparing to militarize its eastern coastline with large numbers of troops to be garrisoned from near the U.S. border in Alaska to the Kuril Islands in the south, currently disputed with Japan. The new forces scheduled to arrive in 2018 will be as close as 85km to the US border.

North Korea says it can now nuke U.S. mainland

After a recent, successful submarine-launched ballistic missile, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un says the North can now launch a nuclear attack on the U.S. mainland, no longer threatening just U.S. allies South Korea and Japan with nuclear weapons.

Russia cements the new Russia-Shia axis in Middle East

Control of the Middle East has long been a Soviet and now Russian objective. Under Vladimir Putin, Russia has achieved that goal by creating a new axis of power in theater, an axis of Russia, Iran, and Syria. Mr. Putin has cemented that control by deploying strategic bombers to Iran to attack the Islamic State and possibly anti-Assad forces in Aleppo.

Russia jumps for joy over wedge between Turkey, NATO

There has been a concerted effort in recent days by the Kremlin to promote Russia's perceived newfound military might. This agenda is part and parcel of Moscow's hybrid warfare that has proven successful in Ukraine and now in the Middle East.

Is Russia getting ready for general war with Ukraine?

Russia's FSB, formerly the KGB, has accused Ukraine of two armed incursions into the Crimean Peninsula over the last few days. The Russian security agency says one Russian soldier and another FSB employee were killed. One supposed Ukrainian commando was arrested and a variety of light weapons were reportedly seized.
