Maureen McDonnell, ex-Virginia first lady, sentenced to 1 year

Former Virginia first lady Maureen McDonnell was sentenced to one year and one day behind bars Friday for her role in a corruption scheme in which she and her husband, former Gov. Bob McDonnell, were found guilty of promoting a wealthy businessman's products in exchange for more than $165,000 in gifts and loans.

Hillary Clinton, Rand Paul running nearly even in Colorado, Virginia: poll

Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton tops several potential GOP presidential candidates in the swing states of Iowa, Colorado and Virginia, but is also in a virtual tie with Sen. Congress’ approval rating up slightly to 20 percent

More than a month into the 114th Congress, 20 percent of Americans say they approve of how the legislative body is handling its job — up slightly from the 16 percent final approval rating of the last Congress, Gallup said.
