Senate, House intel panels launch probes into alleged Russian hacking

The House and Senate intelligence committees separately began investigating allegations this week involving the Russian government's attempts to meddle in the 2016 White House race as lawmakers from both sides of the aisle look for evidence indicating the Kremlin ordered hacking campaigns and other initiatives against American targets prior to President Trump's election.

Senate bill calls for creation of Select Committee on Cybersecurity

A bipartisan bill introduced Wednesday in the Senate would establish the creation of a specialized committee devoted solely to cybersecurity, an effort to narrow the chamber's scope on an emerging topic that's become as convoluted as it is consequential.
