The Golden State Warriors will play home games without fans in attendance for “the foreseeable future” after the city of San Francisco banned large events of over 1,000 people due to the spreading of coronavirus, according to multiple reports.
The city of San Francisco announced the ban Wednesday in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus.
As a result, fans will be barred from the Warriors’ home games, starting with Thursday’s meeting against the Brooklyn Nets at Chase Center, Golden State’s new arena in downtown San Francisco.
ESPN reported the Warriors plan to play without fans for the “foreseeable future.”

Earlier in the afternoon, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told members on the House Oversight and Reform Committee that he recommended avoiding the gathering of large crowds due to the disease.
“If that means not having any people in the audience as the NBA plays, so be it,” Fauci said.
