A cabbage shipment intercepted in the Rio Grande Valley contained 2,000 pounds of methamphetamine, the Drug Enforcement Administration said.
The DEA’s Houston division posted a video on X Thursday of the shipment, which was seized by the agency’s office in the border town of McAllen, Texas.
Agents undid the plastic wrap outside of the purported heads of cabbage to find the meth packages.
The DEA did not say exactly when the seizure took place or if anyone has been arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt.
Meth is one of the most common drugs intercepted by the DEA. Between Jan. 1 and June 29, the agency seized over 2.8 million methamphetamine pills and over 120,000 pounds of the drug in non-pill form, according to the agency’s website.
