WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) - Waterbury police say a woman was arrested for throwing hot coffee at a city officer’s face, hours after he charged her with driving under the influence of angel dust.

Police told the Republican-American (https://bit.ly/1qC74A7 ) that Officer Michael Terzigni was parked at a local Home Depot on Wednesday morning when 30-year-old Trena Grant of East Hartford ran up to his car and asked him if he wanted a free cup of coffee. She then threw the coffee at his face.

Terzigni was off-duty in his personal car, but wearing his police uniform. He arrested Grant again after a struggle. He wasn’t seriously hurt.

Grant is detained on $50,000 bail on charges including assault on a police officer. A message seeking comment was left for her public defender Friday.
