OLEAN, N.Y. — Marcus Posley scooped in a six-footer off the backboard at the buzzer, lifting St. Bonaventure over injury-depleted No. 18 VCU, 73-71, on Saturday.
Posley finished with 15 points and Dion Wright scored 17 in a game that St. Bonaventure (13-8, 6-4 Atlantic 10) never trailed.
It was the second consecutive game Posley has beaten the buzzer. On Wednesday, Posley went end-to-end in the final 5 seconds and scored on a layup to top Dayton, 62-61.
Terry Larrier scored 15 points for VCU (18-5, 8-2 A10), which lost for the second time in three games.
The Rams were missing leading scorer Treveon Graham, who aggravated an ankle injury in a 72-60 win at George Mason on Wednesday. They’re also minus Briante Weber, who sustained a season-ending knee injury last weekend.
