A pride parade (also known as a pride event, pride festival, pride march, pride protest, equality parade, or equality march) is an event where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people and their allies celebrate LGBTQ social and self-acceptance, achievements, legal rights, and pride. The events sometimes also serve as demonstrations for legal rights such as same-sex marriage.
