The Australian Football League (AFL) is the governing body, and the top tier professional competition in the sport of Australian rules football. It is the most popular sports competition in Australia when measured by average domestic sport attendances and is the most financially strong sports league in the country due to substantial media and corporate sponsorship arrangements. The AFL has two main competitions: the pre-season competition currently known as the NAB Cup, and the Toyota AFL Premiership Season which is the main competition. There are 22 rounds in the regular season; followed by the finals series and the AFL Grand Final in September. The winner of the AFL Grand Final receives the AFL Premiership Cup at the conclusion of each season. - Source: Wikipedia
