CDC sounds alarm over triple threat from viruses

The Biden administration on Friday pleaded with Americans to get immunized for influenza and COVID-19 to reduce the burden of respiratory disease as those pathogens combine with a rising threat -- respiratory syncytial virus -- in a triple whammy for American hospitals.

CDC issues first major update to opioid prescribing advice since 2016

Doctors should not taper pain patients off opioid treatment too abruptly and should consider offering naloxone, an overdose-reversing drug, to patients who have a history of substance use disorder or will suddenly receive higher doses for which they haven't developed a tolerance.
