LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Feinstein must leave the Senate

It is time for Sen. Dianne Feinstein to go ("Feinstein says she'd back new Kavanaugh probe if Democrats take Senate," Web, Oct. 17). Her pathetic display of behavior prior to and during the Kavanaugh hearings was indicative of her poor judgment and inherent bias against Brett Kavanaugh. She, along with a number of her Democratic cohorts, is a total embarrassment to public service. The cards she played with Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford were emblematic of manipulative and strategic maneuvers that ultimately tarnished the validity of genuine victims and the bona fide meaning and relevancy of the #MeToo movement.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Ellison a hypocrite

It seems that when the shoe is on the other foot, Rep. Keith Ellison, Minnesota Democrat, becomes the victim. But, when someone else is accused, especially a Republican or a Christian, he will lead the charge that an accusation is proof enough — even though it is difficult to fathom that someone as seemingly calm, level-headed and naturally likable as Mr. Ellison would ever be abused. However, what goes around comes around, and now he is in the proverbial barrel. Enjoy the ride.

EDITORIAL: Coming border chaos could turn the blue wave pink

In love as in politics, timing is everything. Hardball politics is hastening a caravan of immigrants rumbling north toward the United States, on course to arrive sometime around Election Day, Nov. 6. The sight of thousands of illegals from Central America crashing the border could haunt voters as they step into the voting booth. Rather than propel the media-predicted flood of Democratic Party victories, it could have the opposite effect, reinforcing the growing feeling among Americans that they're on the verge of losing their nation. Will Americans decide who crosses the border, or enable prospective immigrants to do it for them.

The current march of "asylum seekers" is bogus simply by the fact that the Honduran core of this organized trek achieved their goal of asylum the minute they set foot in the first country they were allowed to enter.

EDITORIAL: Kanye West’s remarks in the Oval Office infuriates the press

Only in Donald Trump's America could the same pundits and journalists who scream and shout at the president on a daily basis at the White House fashion themselves arbiters of decorum without realizing their own hypocrisy. After rapper Kanye West's off the cuff rant in the Oval Office, they were up in arms. How dare he touch the timbers of the USS Resolute in the president's desk? How dare he drop the f-bomb in this sacred space? They scream and shout at the president while he walks with his wife under an umbrella in the rain. Yet when he leaves the first lady to talk to them, he is ridiculed for leaving her in the rain to talk to them instead of ignoring their persistent wails.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Jobs, not mobs

Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder tell Democrats to "reject civility" ("Michelle Obama rejects Eric Holder's, Hillary Clinton's rhetoric: 'Fear is not a proper motivator,'" Web, Oct. 11). Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters said "to get in the faces of administration officials." Democratic activists are intimidating the public with no repercussions. Democratic presidential hopefuls are encouraging resistance. Really? Resistance to what? The economy, jobs and optimism are at record highs. Unemployment is at record lows. Tax cuts and trade deals are bringing manufacturing jobs back. Hostages have been released without any preconditions. Our fallen heroes from the Korean War are finally being returned. As a veteran, I am so thankful. The Trump administration has made and kept its promises.

I liken President Trump to a huge apple tree that grew big, beautiful, delicious apples (the economy and respect for our country). One day a farmer (the Trump administration) came to the tree to pick a basket of apples to make a pie (a better America). He saw a couple of discolored apples on the ground, and not thinking threw them in with the fresh apples he had picked from the tree. A few days later, when the farmer went to make a pie, he saw that the discolored apples (the Democrats) were rotten and had caused some apples that had been under them (gullible people) to rot.
